•  Soup for SCV Seniors Food Drive - When mobility, energy and resources are limited, it becomes especially difficult to fix yourself something tasty and nutritious to eat. That's why convenient cans of soup are such a blessing to many SCV seniors; they can make a hot, healthy bowl quickly and easily. The next time you're at the grocery store, could you put a few extra cans of soup in the cart for a senior in need? Or maybe your kids can share holiday greetings while collecting soup from neighbors. Once you're "canned," take your donations to Visiting Angels now through January 15th. (Special thanks to Camelot Moving & Storage for delivering all that soup to its final destination, too!). Call to arrange a donation time.

•  A Christmas Story - Join Ralphie on his Christmas quest for the greatest present any kid could want -- a Red Ryder BB Gun. A classic that's so much fun, you might "shoot your eye out!"

•  Foster or Foster-Adopt a Child - Children's Bureau Hosts "Foster or Foster-Adopt a Child" Informative Meeting Do you feel called to do something truly meaningful with your life? Do you love children and believe that every child deserves to live in a loving, safe home? There are over 65,000 children in foster care in California - and more than you'd expect in the SCV. Learn about the training, approval and support process of fostering or fostering-adopting from 10am to 12pm at COC's Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, Room 222. You could be the Christmas miracle a child is hoping for!

•  HandsOn Santa Clarita Hosts Holiday Run - Held at Magic Mountain, raise money for SCV's local volunteer center while running through "Holiday in the Parks," coasters, backlot sections and others. Start the day with "Winter Wonderland" pre-race fun with vendors, free Starbucks and more.

•  The Nutcracker - In its 23rd performance of "The Nutcracker," the Santa Clarita Ballet presents a classic program and favorite holiday tradition for local families and patrons of the arts from all over Southern California. The Santa Clarita Ballet beautifully illustrates E.T.A. Hoffman's timeless story, complete with beloved characters, magical staging, exquisite costumes, and the recognizable musical score by Peter Tchaikovsky.
